Wow - that went fast! 2024 seemed to zip by. We kept busy as a family. Some highlights include
Aidan, Jessica C, Tristan, and Rory all joined us for Christmas up at Lake Tahoe
We went to Las Vegas in March so Debi could attend a sculpture class. She found it intense, but very instructive
Simon passed his Private Pilot checkride at the end of April and has ordered a new plane. He'll be flying it back from Knoxville, Tennessee, in early December.
We visited Sicily in May to attend Colin and Brooke's wedding and had a great time in Ortigia.
We then traveled back to our apartment Divonne-les-Bains, France, in May to see Simon's dad , Andrew, and family. We enjoyed spending a few days in Champagne, France, visiting both major Champagne houses (Ruinart and Billecart-Salmon) and some smaller producers. Ruinart have some amazing cellars that originally date back to Roman times.
Tristan finally finished his PhD and graduated from Cambridge in July. He is now figuring out his next steps.
Tristan and Chuchen were married in Hong Kong on August 12th. Simon and Debi attended the wedding, met Chuchen's parents and also managed to catch up with some of Simon's old school friends who live in Hong Kong
Rory bought a house in San Mateo, CA, and has spent a lot of the year fixing it up...
Meanwhile, nearby, Aidan and Jessica remodeled their house, adding a bedroom and bathroom, which meant they had to move out for several months. It's all done now, and looking great.
We headed back to the Geneva area in October. Simon's dad, Ken, plays trombone with with the Fanfare de Nyon and we were able to attend a Christmas concert that he performed in. We also celebrated his birthday in December with a nice lunch! We also visited Debi's family in the UK; can't miss out on fish and chips (chippy night)!
We will be in Nevada for Christmas and the New Year, with family members joining us
We are enjoying our new home in Incline Village -- and are slowly getting it sorted out. We are planning to do some remodeling in 2025, which hopefully won't be too disruptive...
